Check the whois record. It's run by a professional marketer, and he's spending money on it (blogads on atrios?). He might be a nice guy, and this might be in the same spirit as the rest of us... but I remain suspicious.
Well, so far so good. The "Buttergear" offered on the site has part of the proceeds going to the World Wildlife Fund, which they describe as "Butterstick's original posse."
